Jimmy Butler appeared to suffer a very unfortunate accident during the Golden State Warriors‘ defeat to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
In the dying seconds of the game, ESPN cameras zoomed in on Butler – who sealed a trade to Golden State from the Miami Heat last week – walking off the court with a dark yellow stain on the back of his white shorts.
Fans immediately concluded that the six-time All-Star forward pooped his pants mid-game in Dallas, with one posting on X: ‘Come on bro. It happens to the best of us’.
Another wrote: ‘damn and he just sat right back down like nothing happened’.
‘Back in my day, you’d fake an injury and get a wheelchair to the locker room for something like this,’ said a third.
While one simply commented: ‘Bro what the hell’.

Regardless of his perceived bathroom accident, Butler finished Wednesday’s game with 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in a 111-107 defeat for the Warriors.
The former Heat star’s long-winded trade saga in Miami finally came to an end just hours before the deadline last week.
Butler moved to Golden State as part of a massive and complicated five-team trade which saw Miami take forward Andrew Wiggins and a protected first round pick from the Warriors in return.
Elsewhere in the deal, the Heat received guard Dennis Schroder from the Warriors before flipping him to the Utah Jazz in exchange for forward PJ Tucker.
A deal to send guard Kyle Anderson from the Warriors, through the Heat, and to the Toronto Raptors eventually broke down. Miami is keeping Anderson for now but may move him later.
Yet finally, the Warriors sent guard Lindy Waters III to the Detroit Pistons. Detroit also took guard Josh Richardson from the Heat.
Butler inked a two-year, $121million extension with Golden State through the 2026-27 season. He also declined his player option in the 2025-26 season.
The 35-year-old had arrived at a stalemate in trade negotiations with the Heat after repeatedly demanding to be sent away from Miami in recent weeks.

Butler secured a trade to Golden State from the Miami Heat hours before last week’s deadline
It ended with the team indefinitely suspending him as team president Pat Riley looked to find a trade partner to move the wantaway star.
His final weeks with the franchise were fraught with issues as he demanded to be moved, only for the team to initially push back on his request before eventually relenting.
That led to a post-game interview in early January where Butler said he wanted to ‘get my joy back’ in playing basketball, which he believed wasn’t possible in Miami.
Those comments resulted in a seven-game suspension for Butler, which he served before returning to the team.
