Stay-at-home mom-turned-American Idol contestant Breanna Nix is opening up about chasing her dreams during this busy season of life.
The 25-year-old said during an interview with WFAA that the only thing holding her back in her own life, was herself.
“I never thought I would be on the other side of the fence encouraging other people, I never thought I could be that person to like speak life into someone who felt hopeless, and there have been so many moms who have texted me or try to video chat,” Nix shared.
The Texas-native said she aims to encourage other stay-at-home moms to dream big, and know they can do whatever they put their mind to.
“It’s been awesome to know that I have, like, moms cheering me on and also at the same time encouraging them to chase their own dreams,” she said.
Nix Says Friends And Family Believed In Her First
Nix says she is most excited about tonight’s hometown episode to be able to share in this moment with the people who believed in her from the start.
“I’m really just excited to celebrate with my friends and with my family, the ones who have believed in me and cheered me on since the get go,” the singer said of going home to Denton, Texas for next week’s episode.
The Idol hopeful is a mom first and foremost, and admits she is doing this entire experience for her son.
“I am hoping that he’s learned he can do anything he wants,” Nix says of her boy watching his mama on television. “I want him to also see like how much I love him through this whole process, this is why I’ve done it for him a and my husband.”
Nix’s Future Plans After Idol
Breanna doesn’t plan to quit singing anytime soon, and says after American Idol wraps up she already has plans in the works.
“We’re gonna get some songs out there,” she said of what’s next. “We already have a couple that are just kind of waiting and once we’re done over it’s gonna be out there and hopefully be soaring.”
As a believer in Jesus Christ and a woman of faith, Nix says she just wants to meet people and give them hope in their life.
“I just wanna thank everybody…I put my work in, but at the same time it’s only possible through people’s support and their votes and I just want them to know like I’m truly grateful,” the singer continued.
