Sophie Cunningham’s latest TikTok video quickly went viral following Tuesday night’s heated affair between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun.
Tempers flared in the second half of Tuesday’s contest in Indiana, starting with Jacy Sheldon’s eye poke on Fever star Caitlin Clark that drew a foul call. As the two exchanged words, a heated scuffle broke out, culminating with Marina Mabrey shoving Clark from behind:
Sophie Cunningham retaliated by putting Jacy Sheldon in a chokehold as the latter tried driving to the basket. That led to another altercation between the two teams, culminating in the ejections of Cunningham, Sheldon and Connecticut guard Lindsay Allen:
Cunningham has received significant praise for coming to Clark’s defense, as opposing defenders have gotten away with blatant fouls on the superstar guard repeatedly since she entered the league last year.
After the events of Tuesday, Sophie Cunningham’s newest TikTok video quickly went viral. In the short video, Cunningham lip syncs and dances to Billy Joel’s iconic “My Life” hit song:
The Fever went on to win 88-71 to improve to 6-5 on the season, while the struggling Sun fell to 2-9. Indiana will visit the Golden State Valkyries tomorrow night, while Connecticut will try to get back on a winning track when they host the Phoenix Mercury tonight.
WNBA Announces Punishments For Sophie Cunningham & Marina Mabrey

Per ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, there won’t be any suspensions from last night’s altercations between the Fever and Sun. The WNBA announced a fine for Sophie Cunningham and upgraded Marina Mabrey’s infraction to a flagrant two, meaning she’ll receive a fine.
The 28-year-old Cunningham is in her first season with the Fever after spending six years with the Mercury. In six contests, Cunningham is averaging 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
